More on EPDM rubber roof sealants and coatings

As well as being easy to apply, EPDM Liquid Rubber excels in the areas such as the following for high-quality, long-lasting repairs with fewer call backs. Whether you own or rent a building, or make a living repairing industrial and commercial property, EPDM Liquid Rubber can save you time and money and solve weatherproofing problems once and for all. It’s all down to the following:

  • Water resistance
  • UV resistance
  • Resistance to temperature extremes
  • Resistance to chemical attack
  • Surface tolerance

Water Resistant – EPDM Liquid Rubber coatings waterproof better than epoxies, urethanes, acrylics, polyesters and alkyds. They withstand ponding and continuous immersion in water too. That makes it ideal for flat roofs

UV Resistance – EPDM’s UV resistance means it stays flexible longer and ages better than all other elastomers. It outperforms alkyds and epoxies and equals or betters acrylics, polyesters and urethanes in performance.

Resistance to temperature extremes – EPDM outperforms other coating polymers by withstanding temperatures from -52 °C to 150 °C.

Resistance to chemical attack – EPDM resists strong alkalis, concentrated salt solutions, many acids, alcohols and polar solvents such as ketones – but has poor resistance to oils, fats, waxes and hydrocarbon solvents.

Surface tolerance – You can apply EPDM coatings directly to surfaces without a primer. This includes corroded metal surfaces. To learn more, visit How to Apply Liquid Rubber
